Spartans Face Thrashers in Playoffs

The Spartans will now travel to face the winners of the BAFACL Division 2 West, the Hampshire Thrashers, on Sunday, September 5th.

The Essex Spartans continued their away form by beating the Lincolnshire Bombers for their sixth win of the season. After a slow start to the game, the Spartans finished the first half leading 7-0. The second half saw a different team take to the field as scores from S.Hull(2), D.Wallace(2), A.Minto, A.Beaton and J.Tottman gave the Spartans a 47-6 win with Lincolnshire getting a late consolation score.

The Essex Spartans started their away run by despatching the Norwich Devils in style. Every part of the Spartans game came together on the road as they effectively finished the Devils season off by shutting them out with a score of 0-33

Essex Spartans returned to second spot in the National Division 2 East after crushing bottom placed Lincolnshire in style. 61 points were scored from the home team in what they hope will not be their last home game of the season as they eye the play-offs.

Essex Spartans lost on in an entertaining game as London Olympians continued their 100 percent record. It was their closest game of the season however as the Spartans can be proud of their themselves for keeping the score down and being pretty much on par with the Olympians after a bad first quarter..

As expected, last Sunday's game was a real treat. Both teams wanted to get their seasons rolling, but it was the Spartans who dominated from the off. The Defense were the first Spartans to score this season followed by the Offense who finally found their form. The Offense fought hard all day and the Defense held firm shutting out the Pumas with the game ending 25-0.
London Olympians 46 - 0 Essex Spartans

Essex Spartans lost their second game and first game on the road to London Olympians. The score was heavy with another game without any points on the board but a strong Olympians offence powered through to another win, their fourth in succession.
